FACTSHEET gallery photos

February.11.2010

if you haven’t already been over to the I-Hotel to see the amazing gallery of human-rights inspired posters, i suggest you get over there soon! the opening night went really well, with a packed room eagerly listening to Marie Hilao of KARAPATAN recount cases of human rights violations happening in the philippines. big ups to the sister Angelica Cabande for helping to put together this event…it was very successful, thought-provoking, and the posters themselves were a great mix of inspiration, agitation, and information. photos of the posters below…apologies for the poor quality! i forgot to bring a real camera and had to rely on my iphone, which didn’t respond well to the lighting.  i’m planning on going back to the gallery to take better photos of all the posters, and this time, including the names of all the artists!

and one last thing: if you happen to fall in love with one of the posters below, or just like to support a good cause and a great organization, you can order a 18×16 print of any of the posters for $10! all proceeds go to KARAPATAN to support the human rights advocacy that they do. email sfchrp@yahoo.com for more information.

Hi Elaine, this is Taritz of Bayan. Thanks for posting the fotos on the human-rights inspired posters. Yes, it would be good you went back to the hotel and take sharper fotos. Kudos to you and the organizers of the photo gallery in the hotel.
